Homemade Foot Soak and Detox

23 May

Reblogged from an apple a day wisdom: Within reason and limit, I try to do natural things that are naturally good for my body.  When I can find something really good for myself that I can do inexpensively from home, I get so excited.  This homemade foot detox bath is one of them.  The ions in the salt work as magnets to draw toxins through the skin of your feet out of your body into the foot soak water.

I love this recipe so much I have made up individual pouches and 3 time use jars of the mix to giveaway to

friends and family as gifts.

Here is what you do:

1 Cup Sea Salt

1 Cup Epsom Salt

2 Cups Baking Soda

when you say it pulls the toxins out through your feet, what does that mean? I am in the first stages of quitting smoking and would love anything that would remove the toxins associated with smoking faster.

Manufacturers of detox foot pads say that the products draw toxins out of your body while you sleep. Some manufacturers have claimed that detox foot pads also reduce blood pressure, treat depression and aid weight loss. Typically, you’re instructed to stick a detox foot pad on the bottom of one of your feet overnight for 30 days in a row for an initial cleansing period. When you peel off the detox foot pad in the morning, its darkened or discolored appearance supposedly reflects the toxins that have been removed from your body. ‘
