Gmail Grocery List Tip

We have smart phones that are connected to Gmail. So we created a Gmail account for our grocery list. This way we both always have our shopping list with us.

No more, ‘Do you remember what’s on the list at home?’ or ‘Did you pick up peanut butter when you were out?’

imagesHere’s how to do it:

  1. Set up a Gmail account that you will dedicate to your list.
  2. When you need to add an item to the list: you have two options – you can text the item to that email address (easiest, in my opinion) or email the item in the subject line to your dedicated email address.
  3. When you go shopping use the email account as your shopping list.
  4. Delete the items as you put them into your cart.

My family has been doing this for about 3 weeks and we love it so far – Try it and comment below how it’s working out for you!

DIY Compost Bin

DIY-Composter-by-Tom-Powers-1600W

A few different types of hardware mesh build this bin – Awesome!

  • Approximately 12 feet of wire fence hardware cloth (also known as ‘welded wire utility fence‘) forms the circular container.
  • Electrician’s plastic wire ties (zip ties or cable ties) for connectors, hinges and to capture the redwood handle.
  • The lid and top of the bin is made from a finer mesh hardware cloth.
  • All edges on the top were bent to form a hem and make the hinged lid a bit stiffer
