Scout Idea: have your scouts make the craft and write out the poem to keep.

They then tie a knot in the string every time they do a good deed.

This saucy creature is a mouse
Most mothers won’t let one in the house
See, this one it has quite a tail,
Each scout made one without fail.
Take it home and help all week,
and for good turns you must seek
for every good turn that you do
tie a knot in the string…make quite a few.
Remember why each knot you tied
and how much to help you really tried
and then next week, please take your turn
to tell us all, so we can learn…
just what you did to help at home
a ready helper you have grown!

Play With Shaving Cream

This is a very fun, and generally clean playtime activity. All you’ll need is:

  • Foam Shaving Cream
  • Table with Laminate Surface
  • Kid(s)

Directions: Spray some shaving cream on the table and tell the kids to rub it around, write letters, make pictures, etc. all with their hands.

Make sure kids know not to touch their face/eyes, while playing. Clean up is a breeze too. Just rinse hands, and wipe off table.

Check Your Breath

Take a metal spoon and rub it face down along your tongue.

Go back as far as you can without gagging yourself. Remove it.

Let it dry.

Then smell it– This is what your breath smells like. YUK!

Go brush your teeth AND tongue. Or if you can’t right now, grab some mints or gum until you can brush.
