King’s Cup Drinking Game for Adults

Summary and Supplies:

Kings Cup is one of the most fun drinking card games you can play. It’s a flexible, simple drinking game, and every game you play is a little different. Tons of fun! All you need to play this is a deck of cards, list of rules, and a pint-sized cup.

The Game:

Place a pint-sized glass in the middle of the table.

Spread a deck of cards in a circle around the cup and have your guests sit around it.

The game begins and ends with Kings– with each King card pulled, the player who pulls that card pours some of his or her drink into the pint cup in the middle of the table.

The person who pulls the last King in the deck must drink what’s in the cup. This is especially disgusting is everybody is drinking something different.

All cards are tied to an activity/rule:

2

Two for you: Two drinks to the person of your choice

3

Three for me: Take three drinks

4

Four’s for Whores: All ladies take a drink

5

Slap: Upon seeing the five card pulled, all players must hit the table with their hand. The last person to do this drinks.

6

Six is for Dicks: All the guys take a drink

7

Thumbmaster: Whoever pulls a 7 becomes the new Thumbmaster. He or she can sneakily put their thumb on the table whenever they like. All the other players must put theirs on the table, too. The last to do it must drink.

8

I Never: Say a statement about something you’ve never done. All those who have done it must drink.

9

Rhyme: Say a short sentence. The next player has to say one that rhymes. It goes around the table til the last person can’t think of a rhyme. He or she drinks. (Words can only be used once)

10

Category: Choose a category. Each player must choose something within that category. If you can’t think of anything, you drink. (Example: chocolate candy bars: Snickers, Twix, Reese’s Cups, Milky Way, etc.)

Jack

Rule: When you pull a rule card, you get to make up a rule for the game. Every time the rule is broken, that person must drink. (See Rules Game above for some good rule ideas.)

Queen

Question Master: The person who pulls the Q is Question Master until the next Q is pulled. He or she can ask a question of another player at any time. If that player answers the question, he or she must drink.

King

King’s Cup: The first three to pull a King must pour some of their drink into the cup at the middle of the table. The last person to choose it must drink it. The game ends when the last King is pulled.

Ace

Waterfall: Everybody drinks. The player who picked the Ace starts the waterfall. No player can stop drinking until the player before him stops.

Apple Suncatcher Craft

Supplies: clear glue, paint brush, clear plastic lids, hole punch, white, red or green tissue paper, stem with leaves (or use a brown pipe cleaner and green tissue paper cut into a leaf shape), apple seeds (or brown paper cut into seed shapes)

Day 1

Glue seed to inside of lid. Looks like a petri dish. Have kids arrange seeds using a toothpick.
Let dry overnight.

Adult prep: Determine top of apple and punch hole as far away from outside edge as possible.

Day 2

Rip tissue paper into small pieces.

Glue white tissue paper on inside of lid. Overlap paper for good coverage.
Easiest method. Squirt glue all over lid. Spread it with a paint brush. Lay pieces of tissue on top. Brush with a bit more glue on top. This way fingers should stay clean.

Rip green or red tissue into thin strips. Add glue around inside edge. Place tissue down and using the paint brush – gently push and coax paper into place. Children will need an adult to demonstrate how to do this. It doesn’t need to be perfect. It actually looks better the less precise it is. Let dry.

Adult prep: Glue stems into holes. A glue gun is probably the fastest. Older kids can glue the stem into place when gluing the tissue on by laying pieces of tissue over stem like bandages to secure.

They make great sun catchers too! Tie a thread or ribbon through the hole so kids can hang them from a window.

Fall Skin Care

1. Face care. In the changing weather, it does not matter whether your skin is dry, combo or oily-prone. By switching to a milder, moisturizing face wash will help prevent moisture loss. Using soap or foaming cleansers can strip the skin of essential oils. Cooler temps take away moisture in all types of skin. Consider using a non-water-based cleanser. Use moisturizer with more hydration. Oily types may find that lotions are still superior, but dry complexions need to look for a cream. Ointments are oil-based moisturizers, which provide even more hydration than a cream. Moisture needs to only be applied to the dry areas on your face. Avoid the oily areas.

2. Sunscreen. Just because the weather cools down and the sun isn’t as strong doesn’t mean you should put away your sunscreen. Sun protection is a mainstay in your routine year-round.

3. Body wash. Look for creamier body wash.

4. Lotion. Your entire body needs hydrating. The drier, cooler weather takes the moisture from your entire body. To retain moisture, look for a luxurious, all-over body moisturizer. Always carry a small bottle of lotion with you.

5. Don’t forget your lips. Always carry a moisturizing lip balm with you.

French Style Scrambled Eggs

In a large pot put a knob of butter and turn the heat on low. While the butter is melting, crack your eggs in to a bowl. Once the butter has fully melted (it should not be bubbling or the heat is too high) add a large pinch of salt and ground pepper to the eggs and mix with a fork until just combined (don’t overmix the eggs). Do not add anything else to the eggs at this time. Pour the egg mixture in to the pot and stir constantly. If the mixture does not seem to be thickening you can turn the heat up just a little. You should soon start to see curds appearing which are the parts of the egg that have cooked. keep mixing at a moderate pace until almost all of the egg has changed to curds. There should still be a small amount of runny egg left. Take it off the heat immediately. Add another knob of butter and stir until it is melted, then add 3-4 tablespoons of cream (you can use more if you prefer the eggs slightly runnier). Taste for salt and if needed, add more. You should be able to pour this thick mixture.

Quiet a Fussy Baby

Is your baby crying because he is hungry? If your baby is fussing and rooting around with his mouth looking for a breast or bottle, he is probably hungry. If you are not sure, try feeding him. If he takes a few sips and then wriggles away, go on to the next step.
Is your baby crying because she has a wet or dirty diaper? This is probably the second most common reason for a baby to cry. Check your baby’s diaper and change it if necessary. If the diaper doesn’t stop the baby from crying, try the next step.
Is your baby crying because he is too hot? New parents feeling cautious and protective tend to overbundle babies. If your baby is wearing more layers than you, try removing a layer, or extras such as his cap, mitts or booties. On the other hand, if your house is really chilly, make sure he is not crying because he is too cold. If temperature is not the reason your baby is crying, it’s on to the next step.
Is your baby crying because she’s uncomfortable or ill? Check to make sure your baby is not lying on anything and her clothing is not too snug or turned funny (sideways pajama bottoms would make you cranky, too!). Does your baby prefer to be swaddled, but she’s come unwrapped? If everything checks out, look for signs of illness or teething. Does she have a temperature? Does she bear down on your finger with her gums? Does she have a runny nose, cough or other symptoms? Some baby Tylenol and a call to the doctor might be in order. But if she seems fine, consider the next step.
Is your baby crying because he is overstimulated? If your baby has spent a long period of time in a new or different environment or around a lot of people, lights, or noise, he may be crying because he needs a break. Remember, this world is brand new to your baby so give him time to take it all in. If your surroundings have not changed, on to the next step.
Is your baby crying because she is colicky or gassy, or just tired? If your baby ate recently, see if she needs to burp. Sometimes one good belch is all it takes. If you suspect colic, there are many safe home remedies you can try. White noise, the sound of a fan, a washing machine or a radio dial set to static, sooths some colicky babies. Warm mint tea is another colic remedy many moms report successful. If your baby is tired, she might cry as well. Try sitting with her in a dark, quiet room, holding her and rocking her. If this doesn’t work either, go immediately to the next step.
Ask for help. Let your spouse hold the baby for a while. Call Grandma to come and work her charms. Request assistance from your dear next door neighbor. If you are a sleep-deprived parent and your baby just won’t stop crying, you can feel overwhelmed. And guess what? Your baby might sense your frustration and stress and cry. Get off the merry-go-round and take a short, well-deserved break.
