Determine the doneness of a steak

You touch your thumb to your index, middle, ring, and pinky fingers, and the further you reach, the harder your muscle becomes. Apparently this should match up relatively well with rare, medium rare, medium, and well done steaks as you work your way from index to pinky.

Gooey Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the cream cheese and butter. Stir in the egg and vanilla. Add cake mix, and stir until well blended. Roll into 1inch balls and roll the balls in the confectioners’ sugar. Place 1 inch apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from baking sheets to cool on wire racks.

Prevent Soap Scum in Your Shower

One of the best things to use in the shower to help keep away the soap scum build up and mold, is Rain X. Yes, you would normally use it on your windshield, but if you use it in your shower, it has the same effect. When the water hits it, it just beads up and rolls down.
