Snake from an old Tie

ee4ef6c92de5a202899c9c7552124971

In my book, this is an oldie but goodie!

You’ll need:

  • old tie
  • buttons for eyes
  • ribbon for tongue
  • sewing thread and needle
  • filler; such as beans, rice, or polyfill

First sew the eyes onto the fat end of the tie (being sure to leave an opening for the filling). Fill the tie – not too full or it will only lay straight! Think about adding some bells or other rattling objects first into the skinny end to make a rattle snake! Pin or hold the tongue in place and sew closed the opening. This is an easy craft for beginning sewers.

Butterfly Feeder

Over at ehow; Bonnie says: “Take a ceramic or glass pie plate, plastic or terra cotta plant saucer—or any dish with a sloping rim—and suspend the plate with flower pot hangers or a macrame-style holder made from household twine. Decorate around the twine with the stems of silk or plastic flowers to make it visually appealing to butterflies, and hang the feeder from the bough of a shady tree…” read lots more HERE

DIY Glitter Tattoos

You’ll need:
Contact paper
Scissors
Fine glitter (the finer the better)
Eyelash glue (can be found at the drug store. You MUST get the clear latex kind. It’s in a tube. NOT the clear glue in the bottle.) You can also use Elmer’s but it will likely rub off quickly. Eyelash glue dries in seconds. Also, I suspect rubber cement might work better than Elmer’s but I haven’t tried it.
