Where Did I Park?

Ever go to a big store, mall or parking garage and cant find your car? Try these helpful hints.

1. Before you go in, take a photo with your cell phone of the nearest section locator sign.

2. When you do head back out to the section. Use your car clicker to ‘lock’ the car and listen for the locking beep. Extend the distance of key-less entry by putting the key under your chin. The signal will resonate in your skull increasing the range dramatically. I swear this works, and I’m told it’s safe because the radiation is non-ionizing. VIA

Adding and Subtracting Fractions with the Butterfly Method

Butterfly

Butterfly Fractions

To add or subtract fractions the butterfly way,

1. Write the fractions side-by-side as usual and draw two wings along the diagonals made by the numerator of one fraction and the denominator of the other fraction and draw an antenna on each wing.

2. As suggested by the wings, that look like a multiplication sign, multiply the numbers in each wing and put the product in the antenna for the wing.

3. Think or say: “This poor butterfly needs a body.” To give it a body, connect the bottom parts of the wings with a body-like loop and multiply the two denominators it connects, putting the product inside the body.

4. Add or subtract the numbers in the antennae in keeping with what is being done to the fractions and put the result over the number in the body.

5. If necessary, reduce or simplify the result.

The butterflies above for 3/4 + 2/5 and 3/4 – 2/5 illustrate the procedure. The only difference in subtracting the fractions versus adding them is in the last step where the numbers in the antennae are subtracted instead of added. via

Email Yourself in the Future

CLick HERE to set it up! What a neat idea…. samples:

Dear FutureMe,

It’s almost time. You’ve been training for this for months. You’re ready, you’re strong, and you’re stubborn. You decided to do this because you wanted to work for something, you wanted the pain. You wanted to feel alive. If this isn’t going to do it I don’t know what will. I know the training has been tough, and I know the course seems bigger than it ever has. Like other people in the same position you’re probably thinking “This seemed like a great idea a year ago”. It was a great idea, and you are so much better for it. In just a short while you will hear the words “You are an IronMan”, and nothing will feel better. Even if you have to walk, crawl, roll, or hop across the finish line I know you can do it.

So relax! Enjoy this! This is what you have been waiting for. And just think: the post race massage will be fantastic.

You are a college graduate. You hold a master’s degree. You donate your time and money to worthy causes.
Pretty soon you will be an IronMan. All of this before you’re 25. I’m so proud of you.

Dear FutureMe,
i hope this reaches you in a better life than were we are now. i hope you have, if not graduated, started down the road of your dream career. i hope the babies are doing well and smart as ever. i hope that we are still married to our wonderful husband and everything has gotten back to normal and even better!
i hope that over all…….. we are still and always will be……..HAPPY!
