DIY Padded Hangers
Do you know what a shoulder nipple is? It’s what happens to a shirt when you wear it after it’s been hanging on a regular hanger – you get a little raise on the shoulder – a shoulder nipple. Avoid that with this project!
- Plastic 16″ Hanger
- 1 fat quarter or remnant
- 2 4 1/2″ x 10″ pieces of batting
- 2 Buttons
- Ribbon
- Thread
- Standard Sewing supplies

- Work surface
- Pasta machine and/or brayer or acrylic rod
- Clay blade and/or craft knife
- Aluminum foil
- Rubber stamps, texture sheets, and/or other texturing tools
- Assorted sizes of drinking straws or small circle cutters
- Baking parchment or plain (unmarked) office paper
- Small ball-ended tool and #2 flat chisel “color shaper”/”clay shaper” (optional)
- Paintbrush
