Spiral Square Knot

Whether you’re making bracelets or macrame plant hangers – this technique is a classic!

  1. Start with 4 strands of string
  2. With the first string (string on the far left) make the shape of a number four. Put the 1st string underneath of the 4th string.
  3. Loop the 4th string underneath all strings and pull through the shape of the number four made by the first string. Pull both strings tight.
  4. Continue steps 1-3. As you continue knotting, the spiral will want to flip over. Just flip it over and continue knotting the exact same way. Repeat until your spiral square knot is the desired length.

Mail A Hug Project

Fun project and makes a great gift for the family members you miss the most!

  1. Spread out a long sheet of butcher paper. 
  2. Trace the child’s head, arms, and upper torso onto the paper. 
  3. You can either cut it out now or decorate first and then cut. We used paint but markers or crayons would work just fine!
  4. Print or write out the message below to accompany the hug.
  5. Fold it all up, put in an envelope and mail!
