Pistachio Pudding Salad

pistachio pudding labeled

We always called this Watergate Salad.. don’t know why!! But that doesn’t matter because its delicious – And it’s a great dish for the kids to make – it’s that easy.

Ingredients:
  • 1 (3.4 oz.) pistachio pudding package
  • 1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton whipped topping
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

We always add 1 C halved green grapes, and a few maraschino cherries for color. (Pat dry with a paper towel, so the red coloring doesn’t bleed into the mixture.)

Homework Tip

I had an issue with one of my kids in that he asks for help before even trying to do the work himself. When I was trying to get dinner ready, make phone calls, housework done, etc.. I had to come up with a solution. So, I came up with the:

BEFORE YOU ASK FOR HELP POLICY

1. Read the directions.

2. Read the question(s).

3. Find the subject matter in your text book.

4. Read the subject matter in your text book.

5. Think of your best guess as to what the answer might be.

6. Be prepared to show what you’ve read, what information you have, and your best guess.

7. Then ask.

8. If I can’t help right away, go to the next question: Don’t waste time.

I hope this helps you as it does for me. -Krisgo

Prayer Bands

Keep those that need your prayers close at hand. Even if you’re not a ‘pray’er- sometimes its nice to have those names close. When you look down at the band you’ll be thinking about these people and coming up with ideas of what you can do for them in a more concrete way (plan a visit, make dinner, etc.).. it’ll also help you to keep focused on the big fact that other people have it harder than you.

To make: buy a pack of event wristbands and write the names with permanent marker. Change the bands out as needed!
