Candy Apples
Helpful Tip: Apples often come with a waxy coating, which will prevent the candy from sticking to the surface. To remove the wax, simply boil 6 cups water with 1 tablespoon white vinegar. Quickly dip the apples in the boiling mixture for 5 seconds then thoroughly dry them. The candy will stick in an instant!
Apple Honey Challah

DOUGH
- 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water, divided
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 egg yolks
- 3/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsp salt
- 5 to 7 cups flour
- 3 medium granny smith apples
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp turbinado sugar (optional)
EGG WASH
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp cold water
- 1/2 tsp salt

Lemon Lime Shortbread Cookies
Summer’s not over yet – Make these cute little cookies for your brood!
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or pure vanilla extract)
- juice of ½ fresh lime
- zest of 1 small lime
- dash of salt
- 2 cups, plus 2 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour
- ½ – ⅔ cup Lemon Curd
For the glaze: - 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- juice of ½ fresh lime
