- Calculate your projected height. Working in inches or centimeters, you can try to predict your height based on the height of your parents.
- Add up your mom and dad’s heights (in inches or cm).
- Add 5 inches (13 cm) if you’re a boy; subtract 5 inches (13 cm) if you’re a girl.
- Divide by 2.
- The answer is your predicted height, give or take 4 inches. Note that this isn’t an absolute calculation, but it should be pretty close.

Simple Ways to Make Your Cooking Taste Better
America’s Test Kitchen says: Sometimes it’s the small touches that make the biggest difference. Here are some simple tips for prepping, cooking, and seasoning that are designed to boost flavor in everyday cooking. Because after over 20 years of testing recipes, we’ve learned a thing or two.
1. Don’t Prepare Garlic and Onions in Advance
Chopping garlic and onions releases sharp odors and strong flavors that become overpowering with time, so it’s best to cut them at the last minute. Soaking sliced or chopped onions in a solution of baking soda and water (1 tablespoon per cup of water) tames their pungency for raw applications; just be sure to rinse them thoroughly before using.
2. Don’t Seed Tomatoes
The seeds and surrounding “jelly” contain most of the flavor, so don’t seed tomatoes unless called for in a recipe where excess moisture will ruin a dish.

Gmail Grocery List Tip
We have smart phones that are connected to Gmail. So we created a Gmail account for our grocery list. This way we both always have our shopping list with us.
No more, ‘Do you remember what’s on the list at home?’ or ‘Did you pick up peanut butter when you were out?’
- Set up a Gmail account that you will dedicate to your list.
- When you need to add an item to the list: you have two options – you can text the item to that email address (easiest, in my opinion) or email the item in the subject line to your dedicated email address.
- When you go shopping use the email account as your shopping list.
- Delete the items as you put them into your cart.
My family has been doing this for about 3 weeks and we love it so far – Try it and comment below how it’s working out for you!
