Compost Cookies
These cookies are filled with fun!
- 1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- ½ cup (or 1 stick) of softened unsalted butter
- ½ cup dark brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- ¾ cup semi sweet chocolate morsels
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chunks
- 1 Tbsp coffee grounds
- ⅓ cup old fashioned rolled oats
- A handful of mini pretzels
- A few pinches of sea salt

- 14 count Aida cross stitch
- some thread: black or dark brown to line, flesh tone for the face and feet, medium brown and 2 shapes of pink for the hearts.
Rainbow Thistle Decoration
I would also like to make a set of these in an ombre pattern. Adds a bit of lovely texture!
- Thistles – Thistles grow wild, I picked about 8 from the riverbank.
- Secateurs & gardening gloves – Thistles are very thorny, you will want to protect your hands.
- Wood dowel approx 3cm in diameter and at least 70cm in length
- Walnut wood stain
- Spray paints in lots of different colours.
- Drill with a wood drill bit as wide as the thistle stem.
