To clean cabinets, First heat slightly damp sponge/cloth in microwave for 20 – 30 sec. until it’s hot. Put on a pair of rubber gloves, spray cabinets with an all-purpose cleaner containing orange oil, then wipe off cleaner with hot sponge. This should make the kitchen look & smell wonderful too! via
Here’s a tip to repair a cabinet finish after it is cleaned. If you have cloudy spots or light scratches, you can buy a solvent called “Lacquer Retarder” in a spray can at many paint stores (Box stores won’t have it!).
Please note: This will only work if your cabinets are finished with lacquer!
LIGHTLY mist the scratched area with the retarder…a little goes a long way! It’s very thin and has a tendency to run, so be really careful. Most light scratches will then disappear.
Basically this solvent “re-wets” the finish and will usually blend right it.
Beware: the area will be sticky and wet for quite a while and this stuff STINKS! Give it time to dry and open a window where possible.
I always opt for kitchen cabinets that are made from hardwood or aluminum finished kitchen cabinets since they are nicer and last longer. ,*`:’
