Balloon Party Activity Plan

Reblogged from realdanagentry:

Prep balloons ahead of time, insert a note with the different activities you’ve planned into each one before blowing them up. Write times on the balloons with permanent markers. Then when that time hits- pop the balloon and do the activity!

Some ideas: bake cookies, play a game, paint nails, sing a song, eat cake, open a present, etc…

Calm Down Mind Jar

Reblogged from Herewearetogether:

We mixed 1 tablespoon of pink glitter-glue with about 1 cup of hot water, then added pink food colouring and a tiny tub of glitter. The glue makes the water so thick and gooey that the glitter just slowly and gently swirls around, it takes about 5 minutes for all the glitter to settle, perfect to gather your thoughts!

Print out the label above and attach it to your jar. Use a plastic peanut butter jar if you have little ones that drop or throw things!

Chore Wheel

Here’s a great idea from howdoesshe:

This great chore chart was a product of the 70’s and still works great today.  We use a four tiered chart: 1-Name of kid, 2-kitchen chore, 3- bathroom chore, 4- room of responsibility or ROR.  Having four kids makes it easy, but I won’t bore you with the merits of having four kids.  If you have one to three kids you can add mom and/or dad to the wheel.   If you have five plus kids doing chores, good for you! More helpers means less work for you and dad.   You may actually have a hard time coming up with enough chores.  In this case, you can assign the job of Sheriff.  This was a coveted job in my home, growing up with five siblings.  The Sheriff inspects the other jobs and makes sure the quality is up to snuff.

Yarn Love Message

To make this you will need: wire reinforced clothesline (available at home improvement & hardware stores), yarn & wire clippers. Clip off a length of clothesline and shape into the word, LOVE. Tie yarn onto beginning of word and wrap around wire.

When you reach a point where two wires cross each other, wrap yarn around both wires to stabilize the design and hold the word in place.

Wrap yarn all the way to the end of the word and tie a knot to secure. I left about two feet of yarn hanging loose at the end because I liked the way it looked.
