Wooden Card Holders

I’m thinking a scout troop could make a bunch of these to donate to a nursing home – and score major service project points and lots of Senior’s smiles!!

  • a 2″ x 4″ board (only need 9.5″ of the board per holder – these are pine)
  • a table saw, miter saw, or if you’re pretty handy, a circular saw
  • sanding block or power sander
  • wood stain (optional)
  • polyurethane wood finish (optional)
  • felt padding (highly recommended)

Nursing Pillow and Slip Cover Project

This would make a fantastic baby shower gift – I’d recommend making 2 slip covers so mom can still use the pillow when one’s in the wash!

  • Tape
  • 1 1/3 yard white cotton fabric, washed, dried and ironed
  • 1 1/3 yard cover fabric (flannel, minky or high-quality cotton), washed, dried and ironed
  • 18″ zipper
  • Polyfill (about 32 ounces)
  • Pins, needles, thread, sewing machine, iron, scissors, etc.
