Prep: Buy a package of (Newborn or size 1) diapers.Gather some permanent markers, like Sharpies.
At the party. the shower guests are each given a few diapers and some Sharpies and are asked to write a message to the new mom on the front and/or back of the diapers. These diapers are to be reserved for late night changings by mom (or dad – lets be fair!) so the point is to write something funny or encouraging to give her a little pick-me-up in the wee hours of the night!

People have been writing messages on diapers for years! You did not invent this idea. We do not need your permission to use this shared idea.
Hi Jackie, you’re absolutely right that anyone is welcome to post an ORIGINAL post about writing messages on diapers. However, when you simply cut and paste someone’s writing and use their photographs without giving any credit, that’s not ok. This post has been changed since I first commented on it a year ago so now there is only one photo of mine and credit was given (before it was not).
